Emilie Johansen - Yellow Room
Hi, my name is Emilie Johansen. I was born and raised in Salt Lake not far from WPP. I have four children, three boys and one girl ages 10-18. My kids keep me pretty busy with all their sports and activities, but if I do get some free time I enjoy reading, going to lunch, watching TV and hiking. I started subbing at Wasatch when my youngest was in the green room. I was thrilled to be able to start teaching after he went to elementary. Preschool age children and their emerging minds is a unique and special time in life and I feel lucky to be part of that journey.
Heather Compton - Yellow Room
I grew up in this neighborhood and now raise my family here. I have two boys at the U of U, who both attended Wasatch Preschool when they were young. I love being with little children and I also love arranging flowers at Jolley’s in my spare time. I love this wonderful community that we live in.
Stacy Gorseth - Red Room
I grew up in the Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho area. I went to college at Boise State University and moved to Idaho falls after with my husband Terry. I taught for 5 years in Idaho and then for 4 more in Utah. Shortly after having my 2nd child, I decided to stay home with them until they started school! They are now both going to be in school this fall…and so am I! I’m looking forward to teaching again and to be a part of Wasatch Presbyterian Preschool!
Will Anderson - Red Room
I am from New York and moved to Utah in 2022. Ms. Misa is my mom. Growing up, I spent a lot of time helping out in her classroom. I am a college student at SLCC. I am studying Biology in hope of one day becoming a veterinarian. I love horses and would like to specialize in Equine Science. However, I really love working with kids so that pathway may change. In my spare time, I like to build and collect Legos. I have three pets that I love: my dog, Wink; my cat, Nemo; and my bearded dragon, Tigger.
Mindy Kaiser - Blue Room
This is my 2nd year here at WPP! I have been working as a preschool teacher for the last 9 years, and enjoy watching as children grow each year! I live here in Sugarhouse with my husband, 4 kids, and two dogs. I love to run, bake, travel and try different DIY projects.
Tammy Freed - Blue Room
I’m a proud mother of 5 children, grandmother of 6 and I also have a dog named Berkely! I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I miss the green of the east and the flashing lights of Lightning bugs! I’ve been teaching in schools for over 24 years and have loved every minute of it! I love exploring life and education with the children in my class and love adding science experiments to my lessons each week as we explore education hands on. I’m all about using all of our 5 senses! I love being in nature, gardening, reading, art, treasure hunting (thrift store) and traveling. I look forward to meeting you and your child and look forward to a growing, fun learning year!
