Wasatch Preschool Curriculum

At Wasatch Preschool, we use The Creative Curriculum, a research-based approach used in many Utah kindergartens. This creates a smooth, confident transition from preschool to kindergarten while honoring how young children learn best—through play.

Each day is thoughtfully balanced to support both academic growth and joyful exploration:

  • One-third of the day is devoted to intentional learning through circle time, guided discussions, and small-group activities that build early literacy, math, and social skills.

  • Two-thirds of the day is spent in child-directed, free-choice play—both indoors and outdoors—within a carefully prepared environment designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.

Through this balance of structured learning and purposeful play, children develop the skills they need for school readiness while maintaining a love of learning.

Toddler Classes

For children who are two years old by September 1st, we offer a two or three day program and a full day program with a ratio of 6 students to 1 teacher. Each class consists of twelve children with two trained teachers.

Preschool Classes

For children three to five years old, we offer, three, four, and five day programs as well as Full Day. We use a September 1st deadline to place students into the appropriate age category. Each class consists of 14-18 children (depending upon age) with two trained teachers.

Extended Care at Wasatch Preschool

Extended care is available (with a limited number of spots) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. (Early Morning Care - additional $10/day) and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Lunch Bunch - additional $12/day). Children attending Lunch Bunch must bring a lunch from home. We do not offer extended care in the late afternoons at this time.
